Representing the combined powers of BL (Calling of Phasmic Presence, Telepathic Ceremony, etc) EB (Tselech, Kos, etc) and Xolaryxis (Sorguinazia), INSANITY RUNE's self-titled debut makes a bold statement. The triple vocal attack is the standout element, BL's insane pitchbent extirpations contrasting Xolaryxis' tribalistic summonings and EB's hellish gutturals twisting the mind into knots. Behind this unruly crowd of voices pulses a hypnotic rhythm section, with an active, thick bass part keeping the low end unpredictable. The tremolo-picked guitar riffs alternate between pure evil and lament, reaching an emotional peak on "Volkano Girl". BL's textural interludes build an atmosphere of foreboding where anything can happen, including the twisting of neural pathways into a corrupted demonic configuration, manifesting the INSANITY RUNE.
