Representing the combined powers of BL (Calling of Phasmic Presence, Telepathic Ceremony, etc) EB (Tselech, Kos, etc) and Xolaryxis (Sorguinazia), INSANITY RUNE's self-titled debut makes a bold statement. The triple vocal attack is the standout element, BL's insane pitchbent extirpations contrasting Xolaryxis' tribalistic summonings and EB's hellish gutturals twisting the mind into knots. Behind this unruly crowd of voices pulses a hypnotic rhythm section, with an active, thick bass part keeping the low end unpredictable. The tremolo-picked guitar riffs alternate between pure evil and lament, reaching an emotional peak on "Volkano Girl". BL's textural interludes build an atmosphere of foreboding where anything can happen, including the twisting of neural pathways into a corrupted demonic configuration, manifesting the INSANITY RUNE. This work is crucial for fans of Eerified Catacomb and Lampshade Tapes, though these comparisons only scratch the surface of an album that draws inspiration from such disparate traditions as 70s prog rock and midwest screamo.

Pro dub on transparent orange red-imprinted shells with a double-sided J-card and logo sticker.
